US and Turkey lifted sanctions against each other
Baku/02.11.18/Turan: The US Treasury Department lifted sanctions from Turkish Interior Minister Suleiman Soilu and the Minister of Justice Abdulhamid Gul, the Anadolu news agency reported. Ankara responded with a similar step, announcing the lifting of restrictions on two members of the US government. "Sanctions against US Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Homeland Security Minister Kirsten Nielsen were lifted as a response to the decision of the US Treasury Department," said Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman Hami Aksoy.
Aksoy recalled that Turkey imposed sanctions on members of the US government as a "mirror step" against the decision of the US Treasury on August 1 of this year. Tension in the relations of the two countries was connected with the case of the American pastor Edrew Craig Branson, accused in Turkey of links with terrorists. -02D-
