U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State to tour the South Caucasus
Baku/02.11.04/Turan: Newly appointed U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, Erica Olson will visit Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia to discuss bilateral issues and develop regional cooperation.
According to the Embassy's information, while in Yerevan, Olson will take part in a November 2-4 regional meeting of the heads of U.S. diplomatic missions, including Ambassador to Armenia Lynn M. Tracy, Ambassador to Georgia Kelly K. Degnan and Ambassador to Azerbaijan Lee Litzenberger.
Attending the said meeting will be Andrew Schofer, senior adviser on Caucasus negotiations, and Alexander Sokolowski, deputy director of USAID's Washington office.
"We are pleased to renew this long-standing tradition and gather with our colleagues from the region in question and from Washington, D.C., to exchange views and information to better coordinate our policies toward all three countries in the region," the U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan said in a statement.
Previously, similar regional meetings involving U.S. Ambassadors to the three South Caucasus countries were held in Baku and Tbilisi - in 2019 and 2018, respectively.-0-
