U.S. Embassy: reports of the visit of "American intelligence" to Baku nonsense
“The media allegations that members of the U.S. Senate recently visited Azerbaijan for intelligence purposes are nonsense”, the statement from the U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan said.
The Embassy recalls its previous statement released last week that the Congress delegations make regular visits to Azerbaijan to meet with the officials and representatives of civil society of the country.
“People from the Congress pay visits to Azerbaijan to obtain more detailed information on Azerbaijan and the region for the U.S. legislature”, the U.S. Embassy noted.
Last week, Virtualaz.org issued a message that in January this year the investigative journalist, Khadija Ismayilova, allegedly transferred a list of "agents" of the Azerbaijani authorities inside the opposition and civil society activists in Azerbaijan to the U.S. Senate people visitging Baku. - 03D06 -
