US expects Azerbaijan to consistently develop cooperation
Baku / 14.09.17 / Turan: The US welcomes the signing today in Baku a PSA-type agreement on the development of the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) fields in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea until 2050."This is a grand day for Azerbaijan and its partners in the development of ACG, including the United States," the official statement circulated by the US embassy in Baku reads. The press release reminds that the USA actively supports Azerbaijan in the development of oil and gas resources and their safe delivery to Europe and other markets since the early 1990s.This support was once again confirmed in the message of President Donald Trump to the participants of the 24th international exhibition-conference "Oil, Gas of the Caspian Sea" on May 28, 2017 and Secretary of State Tillerson's statement on supporting the Southern Gas Corridor with which he spoke in February. From the very beginning, American oil companies are and remain participants of the ACG consortium. The US also provided strong political and material support to the project of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline to deliver hydrocarbons from the Caspian basin to the world markets. In the implementation of these projects, the main role played theUS oil and gas equipment, and US service companies.
Currently, the cooperation continues within the framework of the Southern Gas Corridor project, which involves the flow of Caspian gas through Georgia and Turkey to European consumers and reinforcing Europe's energy security.
These projects not only opened the Caspian's resources to the world, but also served as an impetus for the economic development of Azerbaijan.
The United States has long been Azerbaijan's partner in the implementation of other strategic oil and gas projects, the growth of the non-oil sector, the implementation of the Silk Road transport corridor.
In conclusion of the press release, the words of President Trump, expressed earlier this year, are quoted: "I appreciate the cooperation of the US and Azerbaijan over the past 25 years, and I expect the consistent development of this cooperation." - 06D--
