Surplus of Foreign Trade Balance Approached $2 Billion
Baku / 14.09.17 / Turan: For eight months of this year, the volume of foreign trade operations of Azerbaijan with 180 countries of the world amounted to $ 12 billion 523.8 million, which is 9.2% less than for the same period last year, the State Customs Committee (SCC) said.
During this period, Azerbaijan exported goods for $ 7 billion 223 million, which is 12.6% less than last year. For the same time, goods worth $ 5.3 billion (-4.2%) were imported. Thus, the positive balance of foreign trade operations for eight months of 2017 amounted to $ 1 billion 992 million.
The state sector accounts for 13.1% of imports ($ 697.5 million). State organizations of the company reduced imports of goods by $ 131 million. Meanwhile, exports of goods by state structures ($ 5 billion 690 million) increased by 24% for the period.
Since the beginning of the year, Azerbaijan has supplied non-oil and gas products abroad for a total of $ 963.4 million, or 13.3% of the country's total exports, the SCC said. ------08D

Data on Azerbaijan's oil exports for January-October 2024 reveals a significant drop in both volume and value compared to the same period last year, highlighting the challenges facing the oil-dependent economy.
