Import of Cars Increasing
Baku / 14.09.17 / Turan: The situation in the automobile market is gradually improving, as evidenced by the growth of the imports by 64%. But this is not even the index for 2015, when about eight times more vehicles were delivered to the country from abroad in eight months.
According to the State Customs Committee, in the first eight months of this year, 5,662 vehicles of different purposes were imported to Azerbaijan, which is 2.2 thousand more than in the comparable period of 2016. The share of cars (4,874 units) accounts for 86% of the imported cars. During this period, 134 buses and minibuses were bought abroad, which exceeded the figure for the comparable period of the previous year by 80 units. The truck fleet is also being updated: since the beginning of the year, 603 units of trucks have been imported, about 2 times more than in January-August 2016.
It should be noted that during the crisis year of 2015 21,100 vehicles were delivered to Azerbaijan. ------08D
