What did happen to the memory of Ali Hasanov?
Baku/03.09.19/Turan: It seems that the former chief ideologist of the authorities Ali Hasanov decided to re-write the recent history of Azerbaijan, distorting well-known facts.
This impression arises after reading today's revelations of Hasanov on Facebook.
The assistant to the head of state is not shy about refuting the fact that seven regions of Azerbaijan were occupied after Heydar Aliyev came to power.
"Living witnesses of those years still have significant weight in the demographic balance of Azerbaijan and remember well that Nagorno-Karabakh and seven surrounding regions were occupied before Heydar Aliyev was officially elected president of Azerbaijan. Zangilan, the last occupied region of Azerbaijan, was captured by Armenian armed forces in October 1993. At that time, Abulfaz Elchibey was the legitimate president of Azerbaijan," Hasanov writes.
We would like to remind this man, suffering amnesic, that because of a military coup in June 1993, the government of Abulfaz Elchibey was overthrown. He himself was forced to leave Baku, having previously invited Heydar Aliyev to power.
Today, the authorities celebrate June 15 as the day of the Renaissance - that is, Aliyev"s return to power.
Just after this date Agdam (July), Jabrail and Fizuli (August), Gubadli (August), Agdar (July), Zangelan (October) were occupied.
Under the government of Elchibey, only Kalbajar was occupied in April 1993.-02D-
