Who is he, the new head of the Yasamal district?
Baku/02.02.18/Turan: Today the President Ilham Aliyev signed an order on the appointment of Aziz Imran oglu Azizov the head of the Executive Power of the Yasamal district of Baku. Prior to that, 54-year-old Azizov was the head of the Executive Power of the Jalilabad region.
Azizov is a native of Jebrail district, a member of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party, he graduated from the Azerbaijan Institute of Oil and Chemistry. Azizov was the initiator of the arrest of the editor of the socio-political site of Azel.tv Afgan Sadigov, sentenced to 2.5 years in prison on charges of hooliganism.
Provocation against the journalist was committed in the reception area of the head of the district, when Sadigov came out of his office.
Moreover, the head of the district filed a lawsuit against Azizov in the form of private criminal charges of slander and a journalist expects a new punishment.
The post of the head of Yasamal was vacant since July 2017, when Aliyev dismissed Ibrahim Mehdiyev, accusing him of unauthorized demolition of the Haji Javad mosque in the zone of mass demolition of housing on the former "Soviet" street. -06D-
