Young activists arrested during Saturday"s action
Four young people who took part in opposition protests on October 12 at the stadium "Mehsul" on Monday were sentenced to various terms of administrative arrest.
On October 12 after a peaceful protest police attacked young people who leaving the meeting were chanting anti-government slogans. Near the metro station "Inshaatchilar" there began a fight; police brutally beat a few people; about 10 people were detained. However, an hour later, they were released.
But on Monday, the detained were summoned to the Yasamal Police Department, and from there were taken to the Yasamal court.
Youth activist Turkel Azertyurk and nonparty, Ali Safarli were sentenced to 15 days of administrative arrest. Another young activist of the Popular Front Party Sarvar Abdullayev and non-party Emin Maniyev were arrested for 10 days.
Two non-partisan Anar Akperov and Orhan Bahyshly were fined respectively 100 and 50 manat, PPFA reported.
The presidential candidate of the National Council of Democratic Forces, Jamil Hasanli condemned police violence against young people and regarded it as a deliberate provocation to intimidate young people, and keep it from participating in the protest.
It is noteworthy that on Saturday night the City Police said that the action took place without serious violations of public order. -0 –
