Zelensky accuses NATO of failing to defend itself
Baku/05.03.22/Turan: President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky expressed disappointment at the results of an emergency meeting of the foreign ministers of NATO member countries on March 4 in Brussels.
"Today the NATO summit took place. A weak summit, a confused summit. A summit that shows that not everyone considers the fight for freedom for Europe the number one goal. Knowing that new strikes and casualties are inevitable, NATO has decided not to close the skies over Ukraine," Zelensky said in a video message on Friday evening.
NATO is afraid that closing the skies over Ukraine will provoke a war between NATO and Russia.
“All the people who die from this day will also die because of you. Because of your weakness. I don’t know who you can protect and whether even the countries of your alliance are able to protect,” the President of Ukraine said.
In turn, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that all members of the Alliance decided not to send troops to Ukraine. "Everyone agrees that there should be no NATO planes or NATO ground forces," he said at a press conference in Brussels. -02D-
