Arif Hajili: This is only a preview to the crisis

In his speech at the Cabinet meeting on January 10  the President Ilham Aliyev said nothing about concrete ideas to get the country out of economic crisis, said in his interview with Turan and radio "Voice of America" Arif Hajili, the chairman of the party "Musavat". "It was  again an ordinary meeting about the development of all spheres, and formulaic statements  on the development of  non-oil sector.  Therefore, I do not believe in any changes. Apparently, the authorities simply do not realize a depressing situation  in the country, and what erious problems Azerbaijan will face," said Hajili.

According to him, the country comes not only in the economic but also the political crisis.

"The Azerbaijani society  the atmosphere of confrontation is in the country. There are  up to one  hundred political prisoners, the fundamental human rights and freedoms are violated.

In fact,  Azerbaijan  is  in isolation. The economic crisis deepens: every day prices are rising, fuss around the  currency only increased, import  reduces, long-standing economic links are violated. The country is rapidly  going to a deep crisis.

Therefore, the current situation is only the announcement of the crisis in the coming months,  its  consequences will be more severe," continued Hajili. Is  under the current situation  a dialogue between the government and the opposition possible? Answering this question Hajili said that he proposes organizing a televised debate to discuss the situation with the participation of party leaders and experts from the government and the opposition. "The problem becomes a national, and joint discussion with the representatives of authorities and opposition is possible. Without a dialogue,  crisis will deepen  in the country," he said.

The refusal to release political prisoners, falsification of parliamentary elections, violations of human rights, ignoring the appeals of the international community - all these are unforgivable mistakes, the consequences of which will be felt in  2016-2017 years. "We urge the authorities not to deny the onset of the crisis, and to think how to get out of it with fewer losses,"  concluded Hajili. -03В-
