Bahar Mamedova: Police admitted that they planted drugs
Editor of «Tolishi sado" newspaper, Hilal Mamedov, can be imprisoned for 12 years, said Ramiz Mamedov, his lawyer, in an interview to television channel “Objective TV” (obyektiv.tv).
According to him, the charges of drug possession are unfounded, but practice shows that the courts against the opposition members end with harsh sentences, regardless of anything.
In fact, Hilal Mamedov was arrested for posting on the Internet a video “Who are you; come on, go away”, that the Russian opposition addressed to the President Vladimir Putin. Million users have listened to it during a short time, and this phrase has become very popular.
Mamedov’s wife, Bahar Mamedova, said that she was shocked by the actions of police during a search in their home.
»There were 25 people in civilian clothes without a search warrant. Taking advantage by the turmoil, they planted drugs in his jacket. My husband does not drink or smoke, he reads the Koran, so these charges are absurd. The police insulted everyone in the house, including 80-yea-old father in law. When asked how they found drugs in Hilal’s pocket, one of the police said without hesitation, that perhaps they planted drugs, » said Bahar Mamedova.
According to his lawyer, on June 13, Hilal Mamedov, along with a film crew of NTV channel, visited the event of the Talysh folklore. Administration of Asmara region
Attempted to disrupt the event, but the event took place. On that evening Hilal Mamedov said that the Azerbaijani government spends millions to make the world know about it, but he managed to make Azerbaijan and the Talysh folklore famous without paying a penny.
The lawyer said that medical examination on the content of drugs in Hilal Mamedov’s body has not been made yet.
The investigation promptly reports that heroine was "found" in the pocket of the opposition member; then why not to examine the body of Mamedov?
On June 21 Hilal Mamedov was arrested on charges of drug possession. If the judge
Acknowledges this fact authentic, Mamedov’s may be imprisoned for 12 years. --17D—
