11.5 kg of drugs withdrawn over 10 days on Iranian-Azerbaijani border
Baku/14.06.22/Turan: Between May 31 and June 8, the border guards detained several drug couriers on the Iranian-Azerbaijani border, seized 12.5 kg of drugs and nearly 5,000 psychotropic pills.
This was reported by the Azerbaijani State Border Service.
At 23:00 p.m. on May 31 the border was violated on the part of Iran in the Astara region. During search measures the local resident Imamaliyev Gunduz, born 1993, was detained, and a bag with nearly 8 kg of various drugs, including heroin and methamphetamine, as well as 976 psychotropic pills was found hidden by him.
On June 1, a violation of the state border was recorded in the Imishli region. During the search, the border guards detained Faraj Abbaszadeh, a resident of Jalilabad, born in 2002. A roll of 3.3 kg of heroin and methamphetamine was found on him.
On June 8 evening in the Astara region, the border guards noticed a man who approached the border fence and took something. During the search for the trespasser, a resident of Lankaran, Kanan Agayev, born 1982, was detained on the Alyat-Astara highway with 403 grams of heroin and 2980 pills of matedon.

Last night, three earthquakes occurred along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border with magnitudes of 4.8, 3.0, and 3.8, according to the Republican Center for Seismological Service of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan.
