A trial in the "case Nardaran"

On Wednesday in the Baku Serious Crimes Court on Wednesday began The trial in the case of Thale Bagirzade, the leader of the Movement "Muslim unity", APFP deputy chairman Fuad Gahramanli and 16 other people accused of rioting in the village of Nardaran.

Bagirzade together with a group of companions was detained during a special operation in Nardaran  on November 26, 2015, and charged on a number of Articles of the Criminal Code, including murder, attempt to overthrow the constitutional order, illegal possession of weapons and others. Gahramanli was charged and arrested much later on charges of inciting riots and  inciting hatred; his is how the investigation  regarded his comments on the Internet. Today at the trial an  indictment was read. The defendants pleaded not guilty.

 At the trial Bagirzade said that the events in Nardaran were a provocation of the authorities and the two dead police officers "were killed by  the  hands of the authorities, reporters were told by the lawyer Fariz Namazly.

According to him, the faithful  were only making  namaz, when there burst masked men. There was no armed resistance. At the same time, one of the victims - a local resident, was beaten to death by police officers in the car after the arrest. Namazly told also about the torture of his client Abbas Hussein.

PFPA leader Ali Kerimli told reporters that initially they wanted to attract APFP and National Council of Democratic Forces. However,  Bagirzade  did not accept the proposals  by investigation, and did not spoke against the opposition forces, and for this he was incredibly tortured.

After that, the plan of the authorities  to  "blackmail" the opposition  failed, and how to tie it to the APFP and National Council, the authorities decided to arrest Fuad Gahramanli. Kerimli said that the investigation used against Gahramanli as evidence 10 of his status to Facebook.
