A year passed today since the death of a resident of Nakhchivan, Turac Zeynalov, who died in the pre-trial jail of the National Security Ministry of Nakhchivan under unexplained circumstances. According to the Resource Center for NGOs Development and Democracy, the case of the death of the young man remains unresolved.
His lawyer Asabali Mustafayev told Turan, that the documents in the case of Zeynalov’s death, have been prepared and will be sent to the European Court. "After his death, we tried to reveal the true cause of his death. However, it was impossible. Officially, he died of cancer of the skin, but there were not signs of the disease. There is also no documentary evidence of his illness. We have appealed to the Ministry of National Security of Nakhchivan, to the General Prosecutor Office, and the Ministry of National Security of Azerbaijan, but no documentation has been provided to us.
We have appealed to Sabail and Appellate Courts in a judicial review, and they refused to submit documents on procedural decisions," said the lawyer. According to him, the defense was not presented documents on the reasons of arrest of Turac Zeynalov, the lawyer said.
