About 6 tons of drugs have been withdrawn over ten months of the year
Baku/26.11.21/Turan: Law enforcement agencies revealed 7,484 criminal cases related to drug addiction and illicit drug trafficking during 10 months of the year. These data were revealed by Azerbaijan's State Anti-Drug Commission on November 25.
According to the report, 2,787 of the facts were linked with drug sales; 4,230 with their illegal purchase and possession; 372 with illegal cultivation of plants and 95 with other crimes of this category.
In total, 5,880 kg of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances were withdrawn from illegal turnover.
Note that 5021 persons were brought to criminal responsibility, including 51 foreign citizens. 21 of them were citizens of Iran, 11 - Georgia, 10 - Russia, 3 - Ukraine, 1 - India and 1 - Pakistan.
The total value of drugs and psychotropic substances seized is estimated at 162 million manats ($95 million).-05D06-
