Academy of Sciences considers inexpedient daylight saving time
The Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of the country made a proposal to cancel the daylight-saving time. At the same time, it is proposed to base the GMT + 4 (+4 hours Greenwich Time.)
According to the report, the Presidium of the experts believe that the transition to summer and winter time does not give a special economic or other benefit, and energy economy is formal.
"In addition transitionto this time creates a psychological and social problems, as well as the difficulty to synchronize with the international schedule, the report says.
For many years the daylight saving time is carried out in Azerbaijan in the last Sunday in March. In turn, the transition to winter time is held on the last Sunday of October. Such practice exists in many countries, but more and more countries abandon this idea in recent years. -16D-
