Actions of Azerbaijani political emigrants in Germany
Baku/29.06.20/Turan: On June 28, Azerbaijani political emigrants held protests in the German cities of Arnsberg, Hamm and Soest in order to draw attention to human rights violations in Azerbaijan.
According to Elnur Mirzoyev, a member of DAS (Choose a Democratic Azerbaijan) organization and action organizer, the demonstrators called on the German public not to remain indifferent to the actions of antidemocratic regimes in the world.
The rally was held under the slogan: "All dictators are scary, like a coronavirus pandemic."
In particular, the protesters drew attention to the arrests of activists in Azerbaijan and the use of torture against them.
Authorities are subject to administrative and criminal arrest on trumped-up charges. More than 20 activists were arrested; mass repressions were carried out, and about 160 political prisoners in the country.
Earlier, similar actions took place in Cologne, Leverkusen and Langelfeld.
Before that, the rally also took place in Bonn in front of the Russian Embassy in Germany in protest against the harsh operation of the Russian security forces against Azerbaijani citizens in a tent camp in the Dagestan village of Kullar.
According to emigrant circles, in the coming days, political emigrants will hold actions in other cities of Germany. — 06D-

Baku, often called the "Caucasian Dubai," is increasingly known for systematic violations of residents' housing rights. During urban renovations and the construction of elegant new buildings, thousands of families in Azerbaijan’s capital have been unlawfully deprived of their homes. Many, recognizing the futility of resistance, settle for inadequate monetary compensation for their irreplaceable property. A minority, placing faith in the Housing Code, demand fair compensation from construction companies but often lose everything—both their homes and any form of recompense.
