Activist of the Muslim Unity Movement detained in Salyan
Baku/12.01.23/Turan: Mirsultan Bagirov, a member of the Muslim Unity Movement (MUM), was detained in the Salyan region.
The MUM informed Turan that Bagirov was detained on January 11 in Salyan.
The MUM believes that Bagirov, like other religious activists, will be charged due to drug trafficking.
According to local media, Bagirov was detained «as a part of an operation to identify Iran's spy network». Over the past year, approx.100 religious activists have been arrested and most of them are charged with drug trafficking.
The list of political prisoners of the «Union for Freedom to Political Prisoners of Azerbaijan" includes 183 believers, 58 of them are MUM members. 48 of them were arrested after December 2021. In the pro-government media, this was presented as "exposing Iran's spy network," but later they were charged with drugs. –03B06-

Many, recognizing the futility of resistance, settle for inadequate monetary compensation for their irreplaceable property. A minority, placing faith in the Housing Code, demand fair compensation from construction companies but often lose everything—both their homes and any form of recompense.
