Aggravation in the western part of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border
Baku / 18.12.19 / Turan: On the night of December 18, the Armenian side shelled the settlements on the on the western part of the border of the two countries.
According to Azerbaijani Defense Ministry, the enemy opened fire in the villages of Farakhli, Ashagi Askipara of the Gazakh region, as well as in the village of Agbulag, Tovuz region. The shelling was carried out from Armenian positions in Ijevan, Berdsk and Krasnoselsky regions of Armenia.
The Armenian side reported shelling the Ijevan-Noyemberyan highway, as a result of which automobile traffic was stopped there.
A number of Armenian sources reported the closure of traffic on the Yerevan-Tbilisi highway in the Baganis-Voskepar-Voskevan section. -02D-

On December 25, an Embraer 190 passenger plane operated by Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC (AZAL), on a Baku–Grozny flight, crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan. Azerbaijan’s Consul General in Aktau, Ayxan Suleymanlı, stated that the plane had 67 people onboard, including crew members, 38 of whom died. According to him, 26 of the deceased were Azerbaijani citizens.
