An appeals court over residents of the village of Kelbajar begins in Karabakh
Yerevan / 26.02.15 / Turan- ArmInfo: On Thursday in Hankendi Court of Appeal began a trial in the case of two Azerbaijanis, Dilgam Asgarov and Shahbaz Guliyev. These former residents of Kalbajar region were arrested by Armenians and sentenced as saboteurs.
Today, defense attorneys of the accused, Eric Beglaryan and Arkady Israelian appealed the decision of the trial court.
Askerov and Guliyev in their complaints noted that disagree with the decision of the court, as they crossed the front line, did not realize what they were doing something illegal, and they do not recognize a charge of murder.
"I have no connection with the Azeri secret services, and I do not know whether the third member of our group Hasan Hasanov worked for the secret services. I did not kill the boy, Hasanov did it," Askerov said. In turn, Guliyev said he did not plead guilty on any article of the charges. Both confirmed that came in Kalbajar to visit their homes and graves of loved ones. The next court hearing will be on March 10.
On June 29, 2014 Shahbaz Guliyev (born in 1968), Dilham Askerov (1960) and Hasan Hasanov entered the territory of Kalbajar region (occupied by Armenians in 1993.) Armenians claim that they had a special assignment from the authorities of Azerbaijan. They are accused of kidnapping and murdering a young man and an Armenian officer.
On December 29, 2014 Askarov was sentenced to life imprisonment and Guliyev - to 22 years. -02D-
