Another Activist of PFPA Arrested
A member of the Sumgait branch of the Popular Front Party, Khatai Nabiyev was detained by local police on October 11. Sumgait City Court on the same day arrested him for 30 days on charges of "no subordination to police."
According to the Deputy Chairman of PFPA Gezal Bayramli, the activist's arrest is a continuation of the pressure on the opposition for their participation in the meetings of the National Council of Democratic Forces on 11 and 17 September.
She said that so far, about 200 people were called to the police for taking part in rallies, and dozens were subjected to administrative arrest for up to 30 days. “This process continues,” said Bayramli. -03B-
