Baku/23.12.22/Turan: On December 23, the Baku Court of Appeal dismissed an appeal against the refusal to transfer Bakhtiar Hajiyev to house arrest. This was announced by lawyer Aghil Laij.
According to him, Hajiyev stated that he was continuing his hunger strike. It is already in its 9th day and is entering a critical phase.
Although there are currently no problems with conditions of Hajiyev's detention, the lawyers are awaiting a positive response to their appeals to transfer the activist to hospital. -16D-

During search and operational activities, on January 30 at 11:20, 16.4 kg of drugs were discovered and seized in the area of the "Geytapa" border post, located on the Iran-Azerbaijan border. According to the Azerbaijan Border Service, this prevented an attempt to smuggle into Azerbaijan 11.3 kg of marijuana, 5.1 kg of opium, and 1,990 methadone M-40 pills from Iran.
