Armenia is rapidly arming and modernizing the army
Baku/21.08.21/Turan: Against the background of numerous statements about the need for peace talks with Azerbaijan, Yerevan is openly and secretly modernizing and equipping its army. Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia Armen Grigoryan stated that the republic would be able to modernize the army as soon as possible. After the 44-day war in Nagorno-Karabakh, the military leadership of Armenia announced a large-scale reorganization of the army with the support of Russia.
Since November last year, the Armenian army has been constantly receiving new Russian weapons, said recently President I. Aliyev; and the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova replied that the supply of Russian weapons to other countries is a sovereign right of Russia. Moscow thus takes care of the balance of power between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
Along with the receipt of weapons from Russia, structural changes are taking place in the Armenian army. By the end of this year, divisions in the Armenian army will be eliminated; the remaining personal officers will be reduced.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Armenia decided to create a department for UAVs, the development of military equipment in the Armenian army. The decision was made taking into account the hostilities in Karabakh in 2020.
Information about the program for equipping the Armenian army with UAVs for various purposes indicates that the Armenians began to copy the experience of building the armed forces in Azerbaijan.
Armenia will buy heavy drones abroad, and light-type UAVs, mainly reconnaissance drones, intend to produce at its enterprises. The Armenian industry has experience in the production of reconnaissance and strike UAVs like quadcopters.
The Armenian government has approved two more projects. They are secret and not subject to publication, reported the media in Yerevan.
As you know, Yerevan is sending its new-armed units to Karabakh, and the information about the withdrawal of Armenian soldiers from two military posts in the Shusha region was refuted by the Armenian Defense Ministry.
On Saturday, the press service of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry did not answer phone calls from Turan. The Ministry of Defense reported on the constant preparation of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces for the possibility of resuming the war this week. The army held exercises of various types of troops, and the Minister of Defense Zakir Hasanov visited an exhibition of new weapons in Turkey. — 0—
