As Result of Police Violence, Journalist Had Her Leg Injured
Baku / 10.09.20 / Turan: The journalist Sevinj Sadigova from the online edition Azel.Tv suffered greatly the day before while covering a protest rally in support of Tofig Yagublu near the building of the Nizami District Court.
“The police acted very rudely against the journalists, despite the fact that we were wearing identification vests with the inscription Press. Despite the fact that the police knew that we were carrying out professional duties, the employees of the Nizami district put physical pressure on us,” Sadigova told Turan.
During the filming of what was happening, the police forcefully pushed Sadigova and she fell, injuring her leg.
“Other colleagues also suffered. Some were also knocked down, and their cameras and voice recorders were knocked out of their hands,” Sadigova said.
It should be noted that yesterday the police prevented journalists from working at another rally in defense of Tofig Yagublu in the center of Baku. — 06B-
