At the trial in the ""case of AMAY" lawyers asked to justify
At the trial in the case of Abdulla Abdullayev , the founder of the group of companies «AMAY» and five other people accused of fraud closing remarks made lawyers. Advocates have called the accusations groundless and illegal, on the court guilt of the accused has not been proven, so the lawyers were asked to discontinue the criminal proceedings and acquitted the accused.
Akbar Bagirov's lawyer pointed out that the prosecution has not presented any evidence against his client and the other defendants. Credits taken by «AMAY» from "Teknikabank" and Entrepreneurship Development Foundation were fully repaid.
Credit of "Teknikabank" amounting 40 million manat was repaid even in 2012, and bringing the lawsuit two years later on the already debt recovery is nonsense.
On the other hand, in the criminal case back in 2011 has been sentenced, so repeat the criminal investigation is unacceptable.
Lawyers said that none of the charges: fraud, abuse of power, misappropriation on a large scale money were not confirmed.
These loans have been spent on the construction of high-rise buildings on Ataturk Avenue and the construction of the shopping center "Khatai".
At the same time, the fact of assignment of money by someone was not established. Also, there is no evidence of legalization 144 million manats by Abdullayev through Iran. Lawyers asked the time to prepare for the final word.
The judge Afgan Hajiyev appointed trial for September 1.
In addition to Abdullayev other employees of the company AMAY - Elshan Novruzov, Mehman Mammadkhanli, Heydar Rzayev, Anar Aliyev, Vidadi Gurbanov and Nadezhda Ilyasova were also brought to trial.
On 18 August the state prosecutor Farid Nagiyev asked for Abdullayev 14 years prison sentence, the rest of the defendants from 9 to 10 years in prison.
Only Abdullayev was at the pre-trial and trial detention. The rest were not in jail. -05C-
