The trial in the case of a journalist of the newspaper "Bizim Yol" , human rights activist Parviz Hashimli and a citizen Tavakkul Gurbanov continued in the Baku Serious Crimes Court.
According to the wife of journalist, the wife of journalist Ilakha Hashimli, at today's court session there were three witnesses who gave testimonies in connection with Tawakkul Gurbanov. According to his wife, thereare contradictions between the testimony of witnesses during the investigation.
"One of them, a witness from Bilasuvar region, said that he was sent to the court by the local executive power, giving 40 manat for the road. I do not remember the name of the witness," said Ilakha Hashimli.
The next meeting will be held on April 14 at 10:30. Parviz Hashimli was arrested on September 17, 2013 by the employees of the National Security Ministry. In March the term of arrested was extended for another three months. He is charged under the Article 206.3.2 (smuggling) and 228.2.1 (illegal possession of firearms.)
Journalist pleaded not guilty, saying that during the investigation he was made to give testimonies against a number of officials who allegedly financed the opposition. He also demanded to slander PFPA leader Ali Kerimli.-03B04-
