Azerbaijani Air Force airplane crashed during training flight
Baku / 07.25.19 / Turan: An Azerbaijani Air Force plane crashed during a training fligh, the country's Defense Ministry reported on Thursday.
On July 24 at 22.00 (21.00 Moscow time) during a scheduled night training flight of the MiG-29 aircraft of the Air Force of Azerbaijan, the connection with the aircraft was suddenly cut off, and it disappeared from the radar, according to a press release.
According to the preliminary version, a military plane fell into the Caspian Sea.
Measures are being taken to find and rescue the pilot.
The commission by the Minister of Defense is investigating the causes of the accident.
Accidents of aircraft of the Air Forces of Azerbaijan happened in the past too
On February 11, 2013, the military transport helicopter Mi-17 of the Azerbaijani Air Force fell into the Caspian Sea from a height of 8 meters off the coast of the village of Shikhovo on the south-western outskirts of Baku. All three crew members died.
On January 29, 2008, two military pilots died in the crash of the MiG-29 aircraft, which fell into the sea 60 km off the coast of the Caspian Sea during a training flight. -0-
