Azerbaijani National Team Wins First Victory in League of Nations
Baku / 11.10.18 / Turan: The Azerbaijan national football team won with a big score 3: 0 the guest game with the Faroe Islands team in the third round of the League of Nations.
The game began with active attacks of the hosts. Having defended the first ten minutes, the Azerbaijani team began to control the ball. The national team of Azerbaijan scored the first goal in the first sharp attack. At the 28th minute, a beautiful combination of teammates was finished by a precise shot on goal by Richard Almeida.
In the second half, the national team of Azerbaijan succeeded once again. At the 67th minute, the well-organized attack of the national team was completed by football players performing in the low divisions of the German Championship - Rufat Dadashov and Dmitry Nazarov. Perfectly interacting, D.Nazarov, having received a pass from R.Dadashov, with one touch sent the ball into the hosts' goal.
At the 86th minute, the Azerbaijani team earned a penalty. Ruslan Gurbanov, who came to the field a minute before, struggled with the defender and entered the owners' penalty area, and there he was knocked down by the goalkeeper of the hosts. The penalty was realized by Richard Almeida.
