Azerbaijanis in Wuhan Cannot Leave China Yet
Baku / 28.01.20 / Turan: Azerbaijani students remain in the Chinese city of Wuhan, which has been closed for quarantine due to a new type of corona virus epidemic. They can’t leave the city due to the authorities banning entry and exit from the city. This was reported by one of these students - Samed Azadli.
In turn, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Leyla Abdullayeva at the request of Turan stated that negotiations are underway with the Chinese side on this matter. “This is not an easy, lengthy process and negotiations with the Chinese side are ongoing,” Abdullayeva said.
In turn, the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to China Akram Zeynalli told AZTV that there are currently 500 Azerbaijani citizens in the PRC. In Wuhan, 7 Azerbaijani citizens remain, including 4 students.
Students are isolated in dormitories. Local authorities recommend that all foreigners do not take to the streets and provide foreigners with food and everything necessary. The Chinese authorities consider it unreasonable to leave the city. The Azerbaijani side continues negotiations with the Chinese authorities with a view to returning its citizens and hopes to reach this soon, the Ambassador said. –06V ---
