Azercell joins COP29 as event’s Official Telecom Partner
The leading mobile operator of the country “Azercell Telecom” LLC is proud to announce its role as the official Telecom Partner of the COP29 conference, demonstrating the company’s commitment to sustainable development and environmental protection. Currently Azercell’s sustainability efforts directed at reducing carbon emissions, optimizing energy usage, and improving water and fuel efficiency through various environmental initiatives. Since 2017 the company has been deploying solar-powered base stations across Azerbaijan. Only in the Karabakh region the company has already deployed 35 green base stations with renewable energy powering 60% of their operational time.
Azercell is a member of several global climate initiatives, including UN Global Compact and the GSMA Climate Action Taskforce, through which Azercell actively promotes sustainable development while encouraging other players in the market to accelerate their environmental efforts. It is worth mentioning that this year the company unveiled its first ESG report.
Throughout the 10-day event, Azercell will ensure uninterrupted telecom services for conference participants at the COP29 venues. ®
