Bakhtiyar Hajiyev has health problems
Baku/10.01.23/Turan: Public activist Bakhtiyar Hajiyev had health problems after the resumption of his hunger strike.
This was reported to Turan by lawyer Zibeyda Sadigova, who visited him in his Baku pre-trial detention center on January 10.
According to her, Hajiyev looked lethargic.
“He was dizzy, his legs were shaking. Nevertheless, Bakhtiyar Hajiyev intends to continue the hunger strike until the end,” the lawyer said.
The activist demands release from prison.
She noted that Hajiyev resumed his hunger strike after the court did not restore justice to him.
* Bakhtiyar Hajiyev was detained on December 9 on charges of hooliganism and contempt of court. On the same day, the Khatai District Court arrested him for 1 month and 20 days.
On December 15, Hajiyev went on a hunger strike demanding his release from custody. On the evening of December 28, he ended his hunger strike after persistent appeals from members of the public and family members. However, on January 9, Hajiyev resumed his hunger strike, after the appeal court once again rejected his arrest complaint. ---16D---
