Baku Mayor's Office does not authorise the PFPA protest action
Baku/27.09.22/Turan: The executive power of the city of Baku did not consider “appropriate” the protest rally planned by the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA) for September 30 in front of the Milli Majlis building.
The response of the city administration called the rally “inappropriate,” Vahid Maharramli, one of the members of the organizing committee of the rally, told Turan.
“The executive power does not say “no” to the action in a response letter, but considers its holding inappropriate. We will discuss the issue of holding the action and make an appropriate decision," he said.
On September 21, members of the PFPA Presidium Nureddin Mammadli, Vahid Maharramli, Ilham Hussein and Sagif Gurbanov sent a notification to the Executive Power about the action.
Its goal is to protest against the draft of a new law on political parties, the demand for the release of political prisoners, free elections, democratic reforms, and the opening land borders for the return of compatriots from Russia. --03B06--
