Border guards reported for October
Baku/01.11.23/Turan: In October, Azerbaijani border guards detained 35 border violators, including 14 citizens of Azerbaijan, 7 – Nepal, 6 – Iran, 3 – Algeria, 2 – Pakistan, 1 – Iraq and 2 – Turkey. This is stated in the message of the State Border Service of Azerbaijan on the results of activities on border protection, combating smuggling, illegal migration and drug trafficking in October 2023.
As part of countering illegal migration, 17 people were detained, and 892 people were detained for violating the border regime. 381 persons put on the wanted list by the law enforcement agencies of Azerbaijan have been identified and handed over to the relevant authorities.
554 people who are forbidden to leave Azerbaijan have been prevented from leaving the country. As part of the fight against drug trafficking, 149 kg 510 grams of narcotic drugs and 13 145 psychotropic pills were seized.
Contraband products worth 2 million 574 thousand 176 manats, as well as a "BERETTA" pistol, a night vision device, medicines, mobile phones, ancient gold coins, alcohol and tobacco products were also seized. ----06B----
