British Embassy celebrates International Day Against Homophobia
Baku/17.05.18/Turan: On the occasion of the International Day Against Homophobia, the British Embassy in Baku celebrated on May 17, hung out the flag of LGBT. "Today is the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia. The UK has a proud record of promoting equality for LGTB people and has one of the world's strongest legislative frameworks to prevent and tackle discrimination," the statement on the Facebook page of the embassy said . -0--

On December 25, an Embraer 190 passenger plane operated by Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC (AZAL), on a Baku–Grozny flight, crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan. Azerbaijan’s Consul General in Aktau, Ayxan Suleymanlı, stated that the plane had 67 people onboard, including crew members, 38 of whom died. According to him, 26 of the deceased were Azerbaijani citizens.
