Court upholds Seymour Hazy in custody
Absheron District Court considered today a motion to change the measure of restraint on house arrest for Seymour Hazy, an employee of the newspaper "Azadlig." The court dismissed the petition, leaving Hazy in custody, told the lawyer Adil Ismailov.
At the same time, a few days ago the court released from custody another participant in the incident - Maharram Hasanov, replacing arrest to house arrest.
Ghazi was arrested on 29 August on charges of using force against Hasanov. In particular, he is charged under Article 221.3 (hooliganism committed with a weapon or object used as a weapon.) Hasanov was arrested a week later. He was charged under Article 221.1 (hooliganism.)
The incident happened after Hasanov attacked Hazy in the street near the house where Hazy lives. Journalist hit the attacker in order to protect himself.-16D-
