Criminal case against customs officers brought to court
Baku/08.01.22/Turan: The criminal case against officials of the state customs service has been submitted to court.
They are accused of illegal actions of officials of the Azerterminalcomplex association under the State Customs Committee, which is being investigated by the General Directorate for Combating Corruption under the General Prosecutor.
According to the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office, the investigation established that in July 2020, the head of the Astara department for organizing the activities of temporary storage warehouses of the Azerterminalcomplex association under the State Customs Committee, Etigam Babayev, abusing his official powers in collusion with the inspector of the Astara department for technical maintenance of the said structures of Ismatulla Tagiyev, forged acts, thereby creating opportunities for the illegal import of medical supplies in the amount of 33,440 manats.
Based on the evidence collected in the case, Etigam Babayev was prosecuted under Articles 308.1 (abuse of office) and 313 (official forgery) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Ismatulla Tagiyev - under Articles 309.1 (abuse of office), 32.4, 313 (incitement to salary) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The criminal case has been sent to the court for consideration.-06В-
