Criminal Case Instituted against PFPA Activist
Baku / 24.03.20 / Turan: Alizamin Salayev, an activist of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA), has been launched a criminal case under criminal law under Art. 128 (intentional causing minor damage to human health). The investigation is conducted by the Salyan district police department. This was reported to Turan by Salayev himself.
For the period 2019-2020 Salayev was arrested 7 times under administrative procedure under Article 535.1 (not subordinating to the police) for a period of 15 to 30 days.
On February 24, he underwent surgery. “After the operation, I continued treatment at home. On March 2, my former neighbor Joshgun Nuriyev, under the pretext of visiting me, came to us. He was drunk and suddenly began to bang his head against our gate, causing himself damage. Then, I found out that he complained to the police. Now a criminal case has been started against me under Art. 128.
Earlier I was filed a complaint with the court under Art. 147 (slander) and 148 (insult) of the Criminal Code by the head of the investigation department of the Sabail district police department, Hamza Azizov. A preparatory meeting on this case will be held on March 29,” the activist said. -03B-
