Customs arrested 141 kilo of heroin
On 14 August 14 in the truck DAF, driven by a citizen of Tajikistan Muhammedin Ismayilov, Azerbaijani customs officers found more than 141 kilo of heroin. The truck arrived at the Astara customs from Iran, during inspection of the vehicle was found a secret place in the bottom of the truck, where were hidden packages with drug, according to the press office of the Customs Committee. The driver said that his route was through Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine. An investigation began on the fact. This is not the first such case of transit of large amount of drugs through Azerbaijan. The most notorious case happened in n July 2014, when in a truck that arrived in Georgia via Azerbaijan truck were found about three tons of heroin disguised as a liquid soap; the product, costing hundreds of millions of dollars was going in Turkey, and from there to Europe. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan, over this year more than 600 kg of various kinds of drugs were found and confiscated.-16D-
