Days of torment for Baku residents due to Formula-1 races are coming
Baku/07.06.22/Turan: On June 7, the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs held a meeting on the protection of public order during the Formula-1 races. The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that on June 10-12 the police will serve in an intensified regime.
The task of the police is to ensure the safety of participants and guests who arrived in the country of tourists, ensuring public order and free movement of citizens, Interior Minister Vilayat Eyvazov said at a meeting.
Since June 6, the main avenues along which the races will be held, as well as the streets adjacent to them, have been blocked in the center of Baku. They will remain closed until the 13th.
The police urges drivers not to enter the central streets until June 13 and use public transport. It should be noted that such restrictions traditionally create serious problems and inconveniences in the capital with a population of 2.5 million people.
The benefits of hosting such sporting events are highly criticized and do not bring any significant material benefits. -16D-
