Defense Ministry Must Restructure Information Policy - Anar Mammadli
Baku / 14.07.20 / Turan: Losses in the war are inevitable, therefore, Azerbaijan should improve the quality of information work. This is the opinion of the head of the Center for Election Monitoring and Democracy Education Anar Mammadli.
For example, in connection with the events of July 12, the Armenian side told an unrealistic story about an attempt of the Azerbaijani military to break through in an UAZ car. The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense could show the impossibility of such a thing with a 3-4-minute animated film and expose the Armenian side. However, the Ministry of Defense reports are very scarce, and there are no analyzes. For this reason, independent and pro-government analysts cannot comment deeply on the situation.
The media and communication policy of the Ministry of Defense should be updated.
The Armenian side is actively engaged in stuffing information. This is done not only by the official representatives of the Ministry of Defense, who reported that the Armenians allegedly occupied some heights.
At the same time, Mammadli believes that the Azerbaijani government should not use military rhetoric to manipulate public opinion and divert attention from social problems. But the most important thing now is to strengthen the security of civilians and military units in the frontline zone.
It is necessary to make diplomatic efforts to increase the mandate of the OSCE Minsk Group and to achieve the sending of fact-finding missions to the occupied territories, increasing the monitoring of compliance with the ceasefire. –06D-

On a brisk November evening, the residents of Baku gathered along the waterfront of the Caspian Sea, stunned by what appeared to be the washed-up body of a colossal whale. At 16 meters long, the creature’s seemingly lifeless form and pungent odor left many convinced they were witnessing an ecological tragedy. By that night, however, the mysterious visitor had departed, loaded onto a cargo platform and whisked away to the airport.
