Detained journalists complain about conditions of detention
Baku/16.07.20/Turan: The journalists Anar Abdullayev and Firudin Salimov (Firi Salim), detained on July 15 at night while covering the rally in support of the army near the parliament, complained about the conditions of detention, said his relatives.
Abdullayev and Salimov are being held in the 4th department of the Binagadi district police department in a small room with 3 other persons.
There are no sleeping places and at night the detainees sleep connect chairs for sleeping.
The room is located next to the toilet and a bad smell comes from there, as well as the smell of cigarettes; the room itself is not ventilated.
In such a situation, it is difficult for them to eat.
They were given food on Wednesday evening at about 20;00 and the next time they were given food at 16:00.
The representative of the ombudsman's office Rashid Rumzade told Turan that the hotline of this structure received information about these persons.
“We are taking the necessary measures. The issue of visiting a lawyer was resolved. The food question is also being investigated. In any case, there should be no problems with food and water,” Rumzade said.
