Disciplinary Proceedings Initiated against Six Judges
Baku / 28.10.18 / Turan: Disciplinary proceedings have been initiated in respect of six judges in connection with their violation of legal requirements. This is stated in the message of the Judicial-Legal Council, circulated in connection with the meeting of this body, held on October 29.
During the meeting, the current composition of the judiciary was thoroughly analyzed in the light of filling the positions of 30 vacant full-time judges in the Supreme Court and the appellate courts.
Submissions were made regarding the proposal of the President to the Parliament for the appointment of judges distinguished by their positive activities and professionalism to the vacant offices.
Thus, for the first time, the Supreme Court and the courts of appeal will be fully staffed.
The Judicial and Legal Council began operations in February 2005. It consists of 15 members, including 9 judges and representatives of the executive and legislative branches, as well as prosecutors and advocates. -05D06-
