Enlightenment is antidote to religious radicalism
Two-day regional conference "Relationship state-religion and enlightenment" completed its work on Saturday in Lankaran region. The conference was organized by the State Committee for Work with Religious Structures of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Conference Youth Forum.
The meeting was attended by the heads of religious communities in the south, imams and Akhund, religious activists and theologians.
The head of the Eurasian Regional Center of the Islamic Conference Youth Forum, Elchin Askerov, spoke about Azerbaijan's contribution to the development of Islamic culture. Over 70 years of Soviet power, religious trends contrary to local tradition have been brought to Azerbaijan.
He called on the believers of Azerbaijan to restore the tradition of Azerbaijani people to protect themselves from foreign influences.
According to deputy chairman of the SCWRS , Sayad Salahli, citizens should remain united in national issues, and religious figures should not interfere in politics.
Other speakers noted that the correct explanation of religion is most effective in preventing religious radicalism. -05D06-

In 2017, the Sumgayit City Court ruled to evict the Aliyev family—refugees from Gubadli (Akper, Sarvinaz, Ramil, and two other family members)—from an illegally occupied apartment in the 12th microdistrict, Building 7A, Apartment 35.
