Explosion in a residential building, one injured
Baku / 27.01.18 / Turan: At 9:00 am in the basement of the 18-storey apartment building, an explosion occurred in front of the May 28 metro station and the Oil Academy building (Dilyara Aliyeva Street).
According to preliminary data, there was a gas leak in the basement of the building, and for as yet unknown reasons, there was a fire, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
Judging by external destruction, the explosion was of great strength and considerable damage was caused to the first floors above the epicenter of the explosion. The bookstore and the pharmacy suffered badly. The glass in the building is embossed up to 4-5 floors.
According to local residents, the security guard of the building suffered a burn.
Part of the residents of the building temporarily left it. It is not yet clear what damage is caused to the residential house built a couple of years ago.
Representatives of the Ministry for Emergency Situations refused to comment in detail, referring to the need to complete the investigation.
Currently, experts are opening the asphalt over the gas line, from which, according to preliminary data, a gas leak could occur. -02B-
