Hilal Mammadov released after a long interrogation (UPDATED)
Baku / 08.06.17 / Turan: The editor-in-chief of Tolyshi Sado newspaper Hilal Mammadov was released from the Main Department for Combating Organized Crime (MDCOC) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs at around 5 pm.
Mammadov informed Turan, the district police inspector came to him at 11.00 and said that he was summoned to the main police department of Baku. He actually deceived Mammadov and accompanied him to the MDCOC. There he was first interrogated by a young employee who showed a collective photo with Shakhin Mirzali, who fled the country in February.
"Pointing at a man wearing glasses, he asked whether it was me?" I said no. Then I was asked about other people in the photo," Mammadov said.
He noted that he had never been acquainted with Mirzali, and the police themselves can find out who is in the photo and for this they do not need to bring him to the MDCOC. Then Mammadov was led to some sort of head, who began to ask about the newspaper "Tolishi Sado".
Why it is necessary to publish a newspaper in the Talysh language, what will happen if everyone publishes a newspaper in their own language," said the uninvited boss.
Mammadov said that the police cannot have any complaints about the publication of the newspaper and this is in the competence of the Ministry of Justice.
At the same time, he stressed that the Azerbaijani Constitution guarantees the development of the languages and cultures of the peoples of the country. At about 17:00 Mammadov was released.-06B--
