Fate of Three Detained Activists Remains Unknown
Baku / 01/31/19 / Turan: For almost a day, nothing is known about the three young people detained on Wednesday afternoon at the Baku Grave Crimes Court building.
These people came to the trial in the criminal case "on the illegal financing of the Popular Front Party."
In total, seven people were detained, and four were later released. However, the fate of the three detainees: Islam Ismailzadeh, Vugar Novruzov and Nijat Panahli remains unknown. The police do not give any information to their relatives and it is not known where they are being held or what they are accused of. They reported Turan in the Popular Front Party.
The press service of the Interior Ministry refrained from commenting, citing a lack of information.
Note that according to the law, immediately after the arrest, a person should be given an opportunity to inform his family about his arrest and invite a lawyer of choice.
Such arrests of oppositionists and relatives of the accused are made during each court hearing in this case.
More than 10 people have already been subjected to administrative arrests and fines. -06D-
