Compensation Continues for Successors of Martyrs
Baku / 31.01.19 / Turan: The Commission of the Ministry of Labor, having studied the appeals of citizens, made a decision to pay one-time compensation to 954 heirs of 661 soldiers who died in the Karabakh war.
The Ministry of Labor reports that 11,000 manat will be transferred to bank accounts of compensation recipients.
A total of 5,144 heirs of 3,758 martyrs have been paid compensation.
President Ilham Aliyev"s order to issue one-time compensation to the heirs of the servicemen killed in hostilities in defense of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan from 1991 to August 1, 1997 was signed in April 2018.
However, some families were denied compensation on the pretext that they received compensation in the past.
After the protest actions of the families of martyrs, on January 28, the President of Azerbaijan signed a new decree on which compensation should be paid to the heirs of all the dead soldiers, regardless of whether they had received benefits earlier or not, as well as families of police officers.
Thus, the action of the April decree was extended to the heirs of another 2,725 dead, and a total of 12,268 martyrs.
Totally from the state budget it is planned to allocate 135 million manat for these purposes. -06D--
