Baku/12/31/23/Turan: In Azerbaijan, a man accused of forcing his minor daughter into marriage has been brought to criminal charges, the country’s Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
A resident of the village of Mamishli, Sabirabad district, Guliyev Mubariz Musa oglu was subjected to preliminary detention for a period of three months.
Earlier, the media reported the engagement of Guliyev’s 12-year-old daughter to a man who is 20 years older than her.
Let us note that according to Art. 176-1.2 (Forcing a person under marriageable age to marry), is punishable by a fine of three thousand to four thousand manats (about 1800-2400 US dollars) or imprisonment for up to four years.—03b06-

As part of the struggle against illegal migration in Baku city, operative actions were carried out at different addresses. The Interior Ministry reports that employees of the Department for Combating Illegal Migration identified and detained 34 foreigners without documents giving the right to reside and stay on the territory of Azerbaijan.
