FC Neftchi Defeats Russian FC Arsenal
Baku / 08/01/19 / Turan: Baku-based FC Neftchi in the second qualifying stage of the Europa League on Thursday won FC Arsenal from Tula, Russia with a crushing 3-0 score. In the first guest match a week ago, the oil workers won 1-0.
Playing from the defense, Neftchi ended the first half in a goalless draw. At the beginning of the second half, the Baku team held a counterattack, and after a pass by Emin Mahmudov, the striker Rauf Aliyev came face to face with the goalkeeper of the guests and skillfully sent the ball into the goal. After that, the guests in order to get to the next stage already had to score two goals. Neftchi, having built the right tactics, used its good moments. The second goal was scored from the penalty spot, which was earned thanks to an acute counterattack. The defender hit the ball with his hand. The penalty was realized by Dario Frederico.
The third goal was scored at the third minute added. The mounted ball from the free-kick, which was performed by Rahman Hajiyev, was successfully closed by Mamad Mboj, who had replaced another player before that.
At the third stage, FC Neftchi's rival will be the Israeli club Bnei Yehuda. The first game will be held in Baku on August 8, and the return guest game will be played on August 15. -71D-
